pain/discomfort is your body telling you it doesn't like something. If you're feeling discomfort while inflating, just wait a bit and see if it goes away. Otherwise, even more pain might ensue. Avoid things that numb you.

I don't really have privacy in my household either... But they know I take a really long bath once a week... So i do it then too ^^
I don't get so big with water, but being in the warm water definitely is better than using ice-spray ...
the warmth relaxes and widenes your ... inner stuff...
